Poll Question

For the past 7 years Ben has had a goatee. Mainly because I like facial hair on men. Ben decided to shave it off last week. I was so sad!! But I guess he still looks good.

New Babies!!

My older sister Caroline had a beautiful baby girl on September 11, 2008. Both mom and baby are doing well. They named her Izzy Fe Powell (Fe means Faith in Spanish). Congrats Caroline!!

My sister in law Holly had a hansome baby boy named Jonathan on September 5, 2008. Congrats!!

It makes me baby hungry whenever new babies are born. Ben and I are so happy for both you girls.

Team Smile

On Friday we went to a "Team Smile" dinner with our friends Herman and Shauntel (she works with me). Team Smile is a program that does free Dental work for underpriviledged kids. Some of the Kansas City Chiefs players help sponsor this program. The starting quarter back, the punter, running back and center were all at the dinner. We had a really good time!!

Best Cookie Recipe

Last weekend when we were in Oklahoma visiting the Johnsons, Stephanie made the best cookies ever. Ben absolutely loved them so I decided to make them. As many of you know I am not very good at baking. They turned out pretty good (not as good as Stephanie's) but I am proud of myself. Here is the recipe if you would like to make them.

1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 cups flour
12 oz chocolate chip (I used chocolate, peanut butter & butterscotch chips)

Mix sugars, eggs & butter. Then the remaining ingredients. Then add chocolate chips.
Bake at 375 for about 10-12 minutes.

Labor Day, Oklahoma & The Johnsons

This past weekend we decided to drive down to Oklahoma for Labor Day weekend to visit our good friends Stephanie, Spencer & Sofie. It was so much fun!! Stephanie was the cutest host, she made us breakfast every morning. Ben and I are so lucky to have such wonderful friends.

Believe it or not but this was my first Choco-taco and I had to take a picture of the event. Ben has raved about Choco-tacos for years so I finally gave in and tried one. And the verdict is: I think they are OK!
